A fairytale wedding in Porto: cinematic celebration at Histórias com Alma

At the end of September, we packed our bags and headed to the beautiful city of Porto to capture the wedding of two people we admire so much—Rafaela & Filipe! They’re not just an incredible couple; they’re also the brilliant minds behind Meraki Weddings, a wedding planning and stationery business they built with pure passion. Their wedding on September 20, 2024, was nothing short of spectacular. Every single detail was thoughtfully planned, with so many personal touches crafted by the couple themselves. (Spoiler alert—Filipe made the wedding cake!)

Rafaela got ready in a family home that was in the final stages of restoration. And what can we say about this house? Straight out of a fairy tale—with the most magical light pouring through its windows. The morning was intimate, warm, and filled with love, shared with her closest family. A special mention to Rafaela’s bridal look, where every detail felt effortlessly elegant. Her jewelry, from her family’s brand Kiama Jóias, was the perfect touch—simple, timeless, and full of meaning.

Meanwhile, Filipe had a much more laid-back vibe getting ready at Outsite Mouco hotel, surrounded by his friends. Picture this: vinyl records spinning, beers flowing, McDonald’s nuggets being devoured, and, of course, Filipe making sure his beloved FC Porto t-shirt was part of the moment. To top it all off, his friend and barber, Marco Bonucci, was there to give him those final fresh-out-the-barbershop touches before the big moment.

The couple said “I do” in the romantic and intimate Capela da Boa Nova, with a breathtaking ocean backdrop that looked like something out of a dream. The ceremony was deeply emotional, filled with happy tears, meaningful words, and that overwhelming joy that only true love brings.

After sealing the deal, the party moved to Histórias com Alma Venue, a stunning venue where rustic charm meets modern elegance.
